A little bit about us

The People’s Company is a group of talented people based in Napier, who specialise in the areas of finance, insurance and property management. This makes up the three divisions of The People’s Company. The People’s Insurance was first established in 2017, by current Managing Director Bernard Du Toit. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the insurance sector, Bernard and his team go above and beyond for their clients. Their success and fast growth lead to the business expanding in 2020, with the establishment of two new divisions The People’s Finance and The People’s Property.

The People’s Company is now a one-stop-shop for all your personal, business and property needs. One company created by the people, for the people. We are proud to support local and ensure that you and your family are well represented now and in the future.

Ask for Danny for mortgages he is excellent - 10/10. I called him on the Monday and had an agreement in principle the next day from ASB. He knows the ASB mortgage person so was able to get results extremely quickly. He came back to me on every question within the hour, nothing was too much. I don’t think we would have got our house without his support as the situation was complex (to say the least), we had to put a finance clause in, but he called the estate agent on our behalf and really went the extra mile. So pleased we picked Danny!

As a busy family, we try to fit everything in our day as possible. Taxi the kids to sports, music lessons and haka practice as well as work. Highly recommend Matt (or any of the others at The Peoples!) Matt helped me with a small home loan top to purchase a cabin (rather than paying rent on one), which I couldn't arrange direct with the bank! Although a small task now...he explained all the options going forward for the future to make the best choice for today. Will not hesitate to reassess in 12months for re-fixing my whole mortgage and maybe our next step on the property ladder! Matt is only ever a phone call away for any advice and random questions I might have!!

What can I say about the people’s company..The greatest group of people combined. They made our lives so easy, buying a house and the insurance side of things...Matt with his charm, humour and advice helped us get into our first home when we were so nervous. He put up with my constant texting at all hours and was there for us every step of the way. He got us our house and we will be eternally grateful! Then in came Lou the insurance extraordinaire, she took us through everything and now we are sorted! We told her what we wanted and she came back with it all served up to us ready to go. I can’t recommend these guys enough.. a good laugh and so wonderfully supportive. Thanks so much guys for doing you!
